As CEO and co-founder of Avoka, Phil is responsible for the company’s business strategy and worldwide operations. Prior to launching Avoka, Phil founded Jarrah Technologies, the leading vendor of Client Server application development tools throughout Australia. While at Jarrah, Phil conceived of and developed TeamWindows, a repository-based team programming solution that was incorporated into Gupta Technologies SQLWindows product under a worldwide distribution agreement, and later was awarded Byte Magazine’s Application Development Tool of the Year. Phil became CEO of Open Environment Corporation after it acquired Jarrah Technologies.

Phil also co-founded SpotOn, Inc., a California-based venture-backed Internet company, and served as the company’s CEO. As a proven entrepreneur, IT executive and highly-skilled technologist, Phil brings to Avoka a wealth of business experience combined with in-depth technical knowledge and progressive leadership practices. Phil holds a Bachelor of Architecture from University of New South Wales, and resides in Sydney, Australia.


Howard Treisman, CTO

As CTO of Avoka, Howard is focused on strategic product management, including market analysis and differentiation, product roadmap, competitive intelligence, partner solutions, and product marketing communication. Howard ensures the Avoka product and platform meet customer requirements and is a market-leading technology. Prior to joining Avoka, Howard was Engineering Manager at Jarrah Technologies, the leading vendor of Client Server application development tools throughout Australia. Later, as Engineering Manager for Open Environment Corporation, Howard embraced the distributed computing revolution, and was responsible for building a distributed application management system.

Howard served as Director of Engineering at Borland where he put together and managed the team that built Borland’s J2EE compliant Application Server. Howard also served as Vice President of User and Product Management at SpotOn, a California-based venture-backed Internet company, and R&D Manager at Bullant, where he led a team of 17 engineers who built the client component of Bullant’s integrated application delivery engine. As a proven technologist and leader, Howard brings to Avoka a wealth of experience in designing and delivering solutions built around revolutionary technologies. Howard holds a Master of Science in Software Engineering from the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa, and resides in Sydney, Australia.


Stephen Coleman, CFO

As CFO, Stephen leads and manages all financial functions for Avoka operations globally. Prior to joining Avoka, Stephen co-founded and was COO of Quickcomm, a highly successful enterprise software company specializing in telecommunications management software. After building an impressive corporate and government customer base in Australia and the United States, the company moved its headquarters to New York City in 2005. Ranked by Gartner as one of the top three global players in its space, the company was later acquired by Vodaphone Plc.

Previously, Stephen held senior IT management positions at UBS and NatWest Markets in Sydney and London. Stephen brings to Avoka an extensive international career in the IT industry, a 15-year investment banking career, and extensive experience launching start-ups. Stephen holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University of Michigan, and resides in Sydney, Australia.


Derek Corcoran, CXO

As Avoka’s CXO, my focus is on:

  • Understanding what best practice is for sales and service transactions like credit card applications, loan origination, account opening, and government license applications;
  • Ensuring our Avoka Transact engagement platform can deliver best practice;
  • Helping our clients engage their customers with great multi-channel customer experiences based on these best practices.

20 years of IT, BPO, and business development experience engaging with hundreds of clients in the USA, Europe, and Australia have provided me with a great foundation upon which to build my body of knowledge and I appreciate the time people have spent with me educating me over those years.


Reid Hislop, CMO

As Chief Marketing Officer of Avoka, Reid is responsible for all marketing functions on a global basis, including corporate communications, demand generation, product marketing, marketing operations and related activities. Reid brings 20 plus years of technology marketing experience to the job including a proven track record with start-ups, turnarounds and high-growth companies.

Prior to joining Avoka, Hislop leveraged his expertise at several software startups looking to understand markets, positioning and growth opportunities in the evolving cloud space. He previously acted as Vice President of Marketing and Investor Relations for Plug Power, Inc., where he re-positioned the company to focus on a single market to grow the install base from less than 500 units in 2010 to over 3,000 units by the end of 2012—achieving 85% market share.

Previously, Hislop also acted as Vice President of Global Marketing for Pitney Bowes Software; Vice President of Marketing for MapInfo Corporation; and Vice President of Corporate Marketing at Colorado-based McDATA Corporation. Hislop holds a B.Sc. from the University of Alberta, and resides in Boulder, CO.

Dermot O’Doherty has over 25 years’ experience in executive and client-facing leadership roles within the business re-engineering, enterprise software and e-commerce/B2B solution space. He has engaged extensively with Fortune 1000 companies, both nationally and globally, driving corporate and market vision, operational excellence and productivity, and higher revenue and profitability for his clients.

Dermot is a regular speaker and presenter at business and technology conferences, and author of whitepapers and books on leveraging technology to address organization challenges, customer experience, and market leadership.


Richard Austen

Richard has 20 years’ experience in the IT industry, and previously worked for Adobe in a Professional Services management role. In this position Richard was responsible for driving consulting around the Adobe Enterprise product set across a variety of vertical sectors including Media, Government and Financial Services.

During this period he was responsible for some of the largest and most successful Adobe Consulting projects and played a key role in delivering customer satisfaction for some of Adobe’s most important enterprise customers.

Richard has diverse experience working within high-growth areas of enterprise software organizations, building cross-functional teams, maintaining excellent customer relationships and driving innovative ways to do business.

Richard has an MA (Hons) in Mathematics from Oxford University.


Will Beaumont

Will Beaumont

Sales Director, ANZ

Will began his career in the military reaching the rank of Major in the Special Forces. His experience in various military appointments and leadership positions was later supplemented by global sales experience. He worked for Smith Detection, the leading supplier of aviation threat detection equipment, and was General Manager of Sales and Marketing with Sagem Sécurité (now Morpho) before moving to Avoka as National Manager. He also gained start-up expertise working as a Sales Manager with Connexxion Solutions.

Will has a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of NSW, as well as a Master’s in Management. He is also a graduate of the Royal Military College.
