Business Time Calculate

Calculates a business-time0-aware date-time. It adds or subtracts a certain time taking into account holidays, the work week, an input date-time and any number of days/weeks/months/years etc.

Why use it
  • Our service level agreement states that we will respond within 7 business days. We want this date to appear on forms and email communication with the client.
  • We want to set the deadline of a User > assignTask step to be 5 business days from the date is is assigned to them.

Schedule

Calculates the next date based on a schedule. This is very similar to setting up a recurring meeting in Microsoft Outlook. For example, you may have a meeting that occurs on the second Tuesday of each month. It performs its time calculation accounting for holidays, the work week, and custom daily/weekly/monthly setting - starting from 'this' moment.

Note: This operation is designed to be used in a process loop.

Why use it
  • A process may automatically schedule a task to each employee to complete their timesheets every week on a Friday. (Unless it's a public holiday, in which case the following working day.)
  • An electricity company needs to send the quarterly bill on the first day of every 3rd month.

Business Time Wait

Wait for a certain period of time, taking business time into consideration. Please note that this is a long-lived operation and can only be dropped into a long-lived process. The Process Management component of LiveCycle ES needs to be installed in order to run a long-lived operation.

Why use it
  • We've creatd a process that sends an email to a customer. We want to wait for 5 business days, then check to see whether the response has been received.
  • A Customer Relationship Management process should wait at least 3 business days between attempts to contact the customer.

Wait Until

Wait until the specified date is reached. Please note that this is a long-lived operation and can only be dropped into a long-lived process. The Process Management component of LiveCycle ES needs to be installed in order to run a long-lived operation.

Why use it
  • A date for the next management meeting is retrieved from a database. The minutes approval process waits until that date, and then assigns a Task to each of the managers to approve the minutes.
  • The user enters the date they will return to work into a Form. The process waits until the day after that date, then assigns a Task to the user's manager to check that they have returned safely.
