Owing to continued growth Avoka Technologies is recruiting the newly created position of Application Support Developer. You will be the principal player in the liaising with client business and operations teams to ensure smooth running, installation and ongoing enhancement . Critical to the success in this role is a strong technical background, problem solving skills and a desire to provide first class customer service.

To be successful in this role you must be able to:

  • Liaise with customers to diagnose, correct and issues
  • Develop enhancements to installed solutions
  • Provide customers with advise on best practices
  • Work with our product development team to identify solutions and work arounds
  • Advise on hardware/software configuration at an enterprise level
  • Perform installations at customer sites
  • Demonstrate outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Be able to travel and work outside normal business hours

The following skills and experience are essential:

  • 1-5 years minimum experience in a software/hardware support function to external customers
  • Working knowledge of Java and Javascript
  • Knowledge of JBoss, BEA WebLogic, IBM WebSphere, MySQL, Oracle, SQLServer
  • J2EE Application Server experience
  • XML skills, including XSLT, XSD, DOM, WebServices, etc
  • Exposure to Adobe LiveCycle
  • Apache/IIS configuration
  • Firewalls, DMZs, and other security considerations
  • Previous exposure to Workflow systems and/or PDF Dynamic Forms
  • Rich client applications using Flex or Flash
