Software Applications Engineer

We’re adding experienced Software Applications Engineers (Java/J2EE) preferably with previous proficiency in Adobe LiveCycle Solutions, BPM and/or eForms/Forms to join our US team.

JOB COMPETENCIES:

• Providing pre- & post-sale expertise in our FormCenter and SmartForm Composer products utilizing Adobe LiveCycle
  
• Providing development support to our customer base deploying Adobe LiveCycle and PDF Forms technologies, typically done with Java or JavaScript as server based modules or client based scripts 
• Commercial SW delivery experience in a Java environment 
• Strong front end and back end Java skills 
• Coding of programs and scripts based on specifications, guidelines 
• Modification of codes, scripts and application enhancements 
• Testing, Debug, investigation and documentation 
• Following development best practices, specifically application of patterns, automated testing, continuous integration, iterative development and test driven development.

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Min. 2 - 5 years relevant work experience 
• Web application development experience: JAVA, HTML/JAVASCRIPT/JSP 
• Rich client applications using Flex or Flash 
• Exposure to J2SE, J2EE & third party APIs 
• J2EE Application Server experience 
• XML skills, including XSLT, XSD, DOM, WebServices, etc 
• Exposure to Workflow systems &/or PDF Dynamic Forms is a plus
• Exposure to Adobe LiveCycle is a plus 
• Willing to travel 
• BS in Computer Science, Math, Engineering or ~ 
• Excellent problem solving skills 
• Strong interpersonal skills

• Able to utilize a variety of technologies and techniques to deliver business solutions

THE JOB:

• Deliver assigned components/modules to time, scope and quality specifications, and in conformance with Avoka best practices 
• Work to tight deadlines and handle multiple tasks w/effective prioritization 
• Participate in project post implementation reviews and contribute to recommendation reports in order to identify successful/unsuccessful project elements 
• Work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. 
• Participate in and contribute to scoping & design workshops 
• Solve complex technical problems with an analytical approach 
• Work with enterprise level application environments & products 
• Solid written and verbal communication skills
