New Release of Avoka Form Factory for Adobe LiveCycle

New data dictionary and multi-language translation capability reduce the cost and time of large, global Adobe LiveCycle electronic forms deployments

Avoka Technologies today announced the availability of a major new release of the company’s award-winning Form Factory for Adobe LiveCycle. Avoka Form Factory is a solution suite that opens the LiveCycle innovation process to business teams, so that organizations can create more LiveCycle SmartForms at less cost and in less time. Form Factory is comprised of Avoka SmartForm Composer, an intuitive SmartForms creation tool and Avoka FormCenter, a comprehensive SmartForms enterprise management solution. This latest release adds a robust data dictionary and multi-language form translation capability to SmartForm Composer.

The new SmartForm Composer Data Dictionary ensures the consistency of data across forms by ensuring that any element defined in the Data Dictionary will always have the same label, tooltip, list of drop-down values, etc. no matter what form it appears on. The Data Dictionary allows organizations to define data in business terms, rather than technical terms. Defining a common vocabulary promotes understanding between different organizations and it provides developers with a clear and unambiguous definition of the data within their LiveCycle SmartForms.

The new SmartForm Composer multi-language support dramatically reduces the time and costs associated with deploying forms globally. Up until now, the process of building forms in multiple languages has been extremely tedious and costly. In most cases multiple copies of the form are translated into different languages. This costly and complex approach causes significant maintenance and compliance issues, because the same form has to be maintained in several languages. The benefit of the SmartForm Composer approach is that a single form definition file is used to automatically translate a form into a large number of languages with all business rules, formatting and other form features remaining intact across languages.
