The self-service portal is built from the ground up to enable users to quickly and easily:

- Locate SmartForm Apps using guided wizards that automatically filter the appropriate forms
- Submit information electronically that can automatically initiate your business processes
- View previous form submissions, track their processing status, and access copies of submitted SmartForm Apps and submission receipts;
- Save partially completed forms both online or offline
- Assign and deliver personalized (pre-populated) forms to registered users for field force enablement.
Customer Registration Services: Many organizations want to give customers the abilty to set up and manage their own accounts. SmartForm Self-Services Modules proviode the needed registration services:
- A customer self-service account registration facility
- The use of reCAPTCHA account registration checks to prevent bogus user accounts
- Support for both local and LDAP based user accounts
- A customer lost password reset facility
Submission Handling Services: Customers need to be able to efficently submit completed information to your business processes. SmartForm Self-Services Modules proviode the needed submission handling services:
- Automatically handles accidental double submissions
- Provides build in protection for submission replay or DOS attacks
- Automatic handling ‘expired’ form submissions
- PDF embedded file attachment extraction
- Support LiveCycle XFA forms server side validation
- Allows users to save draft forms online

Landing Page Generation Services
- SmartForm Factory automatically creates form landing pages for configured forms
- Landing pages incorporate configurable form metadata tags (DCMI) to ensure forms are catalogued by search engines and are discoverable by users
- Landing pages display configurable content describing the form and its requirements
- Landing pages have support for both anonymous user or authenticated only user flows
- Includes support for pluggable authentication service providers
- Performs user computer prequalification checks to ensure users have the correct version of Adobe Reader installed for the form and that Reader JavaScript is enabled.
Browser Plug-in Management Services
- SmartForm Self Service Modules intelligently keeps the PDF form displayed in the browser and not downloaded to the device. It manages the different behaviours between the various browsers and their versions, and Adobe Reader versions. This is critical when performing multi-step online transactions.
- Adobe Reader in browsers makes multiple rendering requests to your servers. The request you need to serve depends on the browser make and version, and the version of Reader. To avoid rendering the same user form multiple times which consume CPU resources and affects analytics, the SmartForm Self Service modules automatically serve the correct PDF request and ignore the others.
