As a first step in evaluating the benefits of the Adobe LiveCycle solution, Energy Australia asked Avoka to build an electronic version of the form. An electronic SmartForm was developed to provide a more efficient method of capturing and processing information about the possible environmental impacts of planned projects.
The form can easily be filled out by staff in the field on a laptop, whether they’re online or offline. Further key benefits of the solution include capabilities for attaching pictures of the site into the form. When connection to a network is made, the form is submitted and the data is emailed to the Environmental Impact Assessment Team for analysis and picked up by a workflow that manages the assessment process.
Based in this initial pilot, Avoka is now in discussion with Energy Australia about rolling out more Adobe LiveCycle forms throughout the organisation.
